Best Certified Norwegian Translation Solutions, Manchester

We provide expert Norwegian certified translation services for over 200 major languages. We translate from Norwegian to other languages and vice versa. We are a leading provider of certified Norwegian translations in the UK. Our certified translation services have helped thousands of companies and individuals in getting their important documents accepted by various organizations and institutions.

What are certified translations?

Certified translations are high quality translations that carry a written confirmation assuring the truthfulness and accuracy of the translation. Along with the confirmation there are other details which are also mentioned on the translated document. These include the date of the translation, the name and contact details of the translator or a representative of the translation company.

When are certified translations required?

For most general purposes regular translations are sufficient, it is only when the translated document is required for official or government use that you would need to obtain a certified translation.

A certified translation will satisfy UK organizations such as the Home Office, consulates, insurance companies, academic and educational institutions, UK Naric, UK employers, banks and the Passport Agency. Legalisation requirements do however vary from institution to institution and from country to country, so if you are in any doubt as to what type of certification is necessary for your document you should contact the relevant institution directly.

Regulations regarding submitting Certified translations to a court in the UK

If submitting your translated document to a UK court it was previously necessary to have it certified before a solicitor. The rules have changed, and the translator can simply sign a standard statutory declaration which we use here at Certified Translation Services.

Best Certified Norwegian Translation Solutions Manchester

Manchester is a city and metropolitan borough in Greater Manchester, England. The city is notable for its architecture, culture, musical exports, media links, scientific and engineering output, social impact, sports clubs and transport connections. The city has also excelled in scientific and engineering advancement, as it was at the University of Manchester, in 1917, that scientist Ernest Rutherford first split the atom. The university's further achievements include Frederic C. Williams, Tom Kilburn and Geoff Tootill who developed and built the world's first stored-program computer in 1948; and, in 2004, Andre Geim and Konstantin Novoselov successfully isolated and characterised the first graphene.

In terms of ethnic composition, the City of Manchester has the highest non-white proportion of any district in Greater Manchester. Statistics from the 2011 census showed that 66.7 per cent of the population was White (59.3 per cent White British, 2.4 per cent White Irish, 0.1 per cent Gypsy or Irish Traveller, 4.9 per cent Other White – although the size of mixed European and British ethnic groups is unclear, there are reportedly over 25,000 people in Greater Manchester of at least partial Italian descent alone, which represents 5.5 per cent of the population of Greater Manchester). 4.7 per cent were mixed race (1.8 per cent White and Black Caribbean, 0.9 per cent White and Black African, 1.0 per cent White and Asian, 1.0 per cent other mixed), 17.1 per cent Asian (2.3 per cent Indian, 8.5 per cent Pakistani, 1.3 per cent Bangladeshi, 2.7 per cent Chinese, 2.3 per cent other Asian), 8.6 per cent Black (5.1 per cent African, 1.6 per cent other Black), 1.9 per cent Arab and 1.2 per cent of other ethnic heritage.

Need Certified translations for use outside of the UK? Here are somethings you should know

If the translation is to be used outside the UK it may also require certification by a Notary Public and legalisation by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) as well as translation. Please contact your local consular service for more information to ensure you request the correct level of certification.

For translations that will be sent abroad, it is sometimes necessary to have the declaration signed in the presence of a Notary Public, depending on the purpose of the translation and the country where it will be used.

In some countries, such as Brazil, translators undergo a selective examination process or are appointed by a court or Government authority to be recognized as “sworn translators”. In such cases, a translation by a sworn translator is an official document in its own right and no further certification or legalisation is usually required for official use in that country.

Some interesting facts about the Norwegian language

Norwegian belongs to the North Germanic family of languages and is mainly spoken in Norway. Along with Sami it is the main official language of Norway. Though spoken by less than 1% of Norwegian population, Sami still holds the status of an official language in Norway. Historically Norwegian vocabulary largely consists of words from Old Norse and Middle Low German. However lately English, Danish and Swedish are the languages from which Norwegian borrows many of its words.
