Certified Translation of Affidavits

Legal documents translated from foreign languages need to be certified in order to be presented in the UK. This includes but is not limited to an affidavit, also known as a Solemn Declaration or a Statutory Declaration. This type of statement must be sworn before an authorised person and is destined for use in court. The individual making the statement swears before a judge, solicitor, or another authorised official that the statements are true and complete. Translation must be performed by a certified translator, proofread and edited for absolute accuracy. The certified translation is then attested before a UK notary public to be a faithful copy of the original, and receives the official seal. Further information on this topic is available from our Certified Translation UK website.
